AutoFill Form Helper

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

In short: everything this extension saves stays in your own browser’s local storage. There is no server, no account and no analytics — nothing you save is ever transmitted anywhere.

What is stored

Only what you explicitly ask to save. When you choose Save this form as…, the extension stores:

  • The values you entered in that form’s fields.
  • Each field’s visible label and the selectors used to find it again.
  • The address of the page (origin and path, without query string), so the profile can be matched next time.
  • The name you gave the profile, and the timestamps when it was created and updated.

Fields you untick in the save dialog are not stored at all. Hidden form fields (type="hidden") are never collected.

Password fields

If the form contains a password field and you leave it ticked when saving, its value is stored the same way as any other field — in plain text, in local storage on your own machine. It is marked with a lock icon on the manage page. It is never transmitted anywhere.

On a shared or public computer, untick that row in the save dialog, or delete the profile afterwards from the manage page.

Where it is stored

In chrome.storage.local, Chrome’s local storage area for extensions, on the device you are using. It is not synced to your Google account and it is not sent to us or to anyone else.

What is never done

  • No data is uploaded to any server. The extension makes no network requests at all.
  • There is no account, no sign-in and no user identifier.
  • There is no analytics, telemetry, tracking or crash reporting.
  • No data is shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.
  • Nothing is used for advertising, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to filling the form you asked it to fill.

Why each permission is needed

PermissionReason
storageTo keep your saved profiles on your own device.
contextMenusTo provide the right-click entries for saving and filling.
scriptingTo inject the page script into tabs that were already open when the extension was installed or updated.
tabsTo read the address of the active tab, so the matching profile can be offered.
host permissions
(http / https)
Forms exist on any website, so the extension must be able to read and fill form fields on whichever page you choose. It only does so when you explicitly trigger a save or a fill.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your profiles stay until you remove them. You can delete any single profile from the toolbar popup or the manage page, and you can export everything to a JSON file at any time. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it, as Chrome clears an extension’s local storage when it is removed.

Children

This extension is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them — it collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. Any change that affects how data is handled will also be described in the extension’s release notes.
